Simplemente porque lo amo / Simply because I love him

He sido paciente y he esperado,  he sido cordial, he llamado, he investigado, he pedido me informen del avance.

Hi, first of all I wanted to explain (probably ahead of time) that with the move my internet access is a tad restricted (signal is rubbish!) So, I hope you understand that at times I will not be able to upload any posts due to bad signal, but will try and keep writing and then, when signal is good I can upload the lot.
There are times in this adventure that everything seems to be a struggle. Although I am tired, tired of constantly having to struggle to get the things my son should be entitled to for his education, I will not stop fighting to get what he needs. I have enough motivation, he is my son and I love him.
A brief update on what is going on. Yesterday I spoke, yet again, with my son’s caseworker in Education. He finally confirmed, with all the words, that his statement will be late. I have been patient and waited, I have been cordial, I have rung, I have investigated, and I have requested to be kept updated on advances. And finally, due to the many calls, they have told me the truth: ‘I will be late because the Educational Psychologist is very much behind with the many cases she has to see.’ Without the statement Education cannot decide how many hours of support my son will need in school. Without the statement there is no funding. Without the statement Tim will be going to school with the same support as any other child, which means, he would not have the support he needs.
Well, I have been patient but no more. I have rung everyone I thought could give me some ideas on what to do. Finally got some advice that sounded would work. I have written to the Director of Schools, Children and Families in the Council with copy to our caseworker and his manager stating that under the regulations of 2001 the fact that the educational psychologist is overbooked does not mean they can take longer and delay the statement. I have requested a reply and a date for my son to be seen. If this does not work then the next step is getting a lawyer.
Many people have advised me against sending this letter, that I should wait because we will be working with Education for years to come and I don’t want them to have any adverse feelings towards me. But I don’t think it is fair I am expected to sit and wait happily and just hope for the best. I know I will be working with these people for many more years, but I am not being rude and I am not lying. What I am doing is letting them know I KNOW what are our rights and I will not be left waiting. I sent the letter Friday; I will let you know what happens next.
